I love to sing. Thankfully, my daughter is showing signs of a similar interest. So far. She turned 2 at the end of August 2009, and I bought this cd in July b/c she so loved me singing “Row, row, row your boat” and other oldies but goodies. There are all kinds of toddler tunes out there, but I wanted one to hearken back to my own childhood. Playdate Fun definitely fit the bill. Even my husband enjoys it, and he has commented on how he likes it better than the other cds we subsequently bought.

My daughter asks for her “cd…cd” and we happily put it on. Buy this. You will not regret it. Plus, it’s not annoying like some toddler tunes are! :)

The Playdate Fun CD is great for developing learning skills in your little one! My baby girl likes the music and I can sing along to the songs with lyrics. I am sure that as she gets older, she will sing along too!

We’ve only had this CD for a couple of weeks, but my son loves it! He is biased, he loves all things Baby Einstein! I pop this on while he plays and he’ll start dacing immediately. It is awesome, he’ll play alone so much longer since it seems to occupy or pacify him.

What I also enjoy about this CD is the fact that there are a lot of songs you can do hand movements to, such as: Itsy Bitsy Spider, Wheels on the Bus, B-I-N-G-O, Where is Thumbkin, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, If You’re Happy & You know It. This makes not just for great listening, but for some fun time spent with your little one teaching them the movements etc.

I can’t recommend the B.E. series enough. My sons loves many of their DVD’s, books, CD’s etc. If you’re looking for another B.E. CD, I also recommend “Playtime Music Box”.

This CD is fantastic. We received it as a gift when my son was a year old and every time we start it in the car, he’s immediately engaged (read: quiet and attentive). He’s always loved when we sing to him, so this is great. You can sing along or let the kids on the CD handle the vocals when yours are worn out. The lyrics are a little different in some cases, but still fun. I’ll warn you- “Yay, it’s snack time/Yummy yummy snack time” gets stuck in my head every time, but there are worse things, I guess. If you need a way to distract a child on a long car ride, this has been useful for us, maybe for you too.

Conceptually, this is a great product: a CD to help you teach your child typical childhood songs. CDs like this are particularly valuable if you are musically challenged like me. (”She couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket.” “She should sing solo — ’solo’ that no one can hear her.” You get the idea.) You should recognize the melodies on this CD. UNFORTUNATELY, you might not recognize all the lyrics, which in some instances have been slightly or dramatically altered from the versions I learned. This is not horrible, except that these altered lyrics cannot always be clearly heard on this CD … and there’s no lyric sheet accompanying this CD … and there’s no easy-to-find place online with the Baby Einstein version of the lyrics. (So far, no website at all seems to have the Baby Einstein version of “Do Your Ears Hang Low?”) The result: you won’t have an entirely smooth or fun experience singing along with the CD as your child watches and tries to get it. Instead, your child will watch as you periodically stop singing and display a puzzled expression. There may be a learning experience in this incongruity, but I was not planning to teach this lesson for a couple more years.
